What is an Immunology Requisition Form?
Immunology is a branch of medicine centered around the immune system. Immunology requisition forms are used by physicians to identify antibodies for disease diagnosis. Physicians test blood samples to determine if antibodies (the body’s response to antigens, or foreign invaders) are present. When bacteria, fungi, parasites or viruses enter the body, the immune system sends antibodies to destroy the antigen. Immunology testing evaluates how the antigen and antibody react to one another. Laboratory testing for antibodies can help diagnose and treat certain infectious diseases.
